Music extravaganza at Nenaghs Scouts Hall

After a summer of rehearsing for the youths of Nenagh Choral Society, this Thursday, October 29th, is the opening night of four performances of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat' at the Scouts Hall in Nenagh.
Following the highly successful productions of ‘Les Miserables’ (2011) ‘West Side Story’ (2012), ‘Grease’ (2013) and ‘Phantom of the Opera’ (2014), NCS are delighted to be able to stage yet another academy production, the fifth in as many years.
July saw the cast and crew gather to begin preparing for this show. This is possibly one of the largest groups NCS have had in recent years and there is a large team working in the background to ensure this is one of their best shows yet! This includes the production team, the committee, the child welfare officers, the stage crew and the artistic design crew. Not to mention all the past and present members of the society who also volunteer.
2015 brought great success to NCS following our shows ‘Annie Get Your Gun’ and ‘Phantom of the Opera’. The society was recognised for its achievements at the annual AIMS awards in Killarney.  Roisín Heenan, a former member of the youth academy, was nominated for 'Best Female Singer’ for her role as ‘Christine’ in 'The Phantom of the Opera'; the Front of House Team led by Úna Collins won the 'Front of House Award' for ‘Annie Get Your Gun’; and the ‘Spirit of AIMS’ runner-up award was accepted by Ger McCarthy on behalf of the society. Also, congratulations are in order for Dylan Rooney, for his performance at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre on Sunday October 25th as he represented NCS along with Niamh Chadwick and Erica Flanagan Walsh - who were members of the chorus - for the 50th anniversary concert for AIMS.
Continuing on from this, it is with great excitement that Nenagh Choral Society stage ‘Joseph’. This is a family favourite musical, filled with great songs, humour and plenty of colour. Performances from Thursday 29th to Saturday 31st begin at 8.15pm with an earlier curtain call of 5pm on Sunday November 1st. Tickets are on sale now from the box office at the Scouts Hall daily (10am-5pm) or you can call 0863122725 to reserve yours now. Don’t delay as you may be left disappointed – there are only four performances of this great musical.
