Tipp garda launch know your patch initiative

Gardaí in Tipperary will next Monday (April 27th) launch a new community policing initiaitve called 'Know Your Patch'.

The launch follows the Tipperary Divisional Community Policing Seminar, which took place in January of this year.
Gardaí in Tipperary will now be assigned a specific area in each District across the Division and will conduct a leaflet drop to all homes in their assigned community area to identify to you that they are your Community Garda. Your assigned garda will be your point of contact and will be there to assist and engage with you should you require support, crime prevention advice or assistance with initiatives such as Neighborhood Watch, Community Alert and Text Alert.
Commenting on the launch of ‘Know Your Patch’, Chief Superintendent of the Tipperary Garda Division Catherine Kehoe said; “An Garda Síochána in the Tipperary Division recognise and very much appreciate the valuable support and assistance that the community give to An Garda Síochána.  As part of our review of our service delivery incorporated under our Policing Plan 2015, Gardaí in the Tipperary Division intend to improve service delivery, bringing about greater community engagement and ensuring greater visibility in the community.
“I am committed to ensuring that community policing remains a priority for the Tipperary Division and I am looking forward to working closely with the community in Tipperary on a number of initiatives in order to bring about a greater feeling of safety in our communities.”
