Fureys bound for nenagh

Coming to Nenagh Arts Centre on Saturday week March 28th are legends of Irish music and song The Fureys. The band are renowned for  hit songs such as ‘I Will Love You’, ‘When You Were Sweet 16’, ‘The Green Fields of France’, ‘The Old Man’, ‘Red Rose Café’, ‘From Clare to Here’, ‘Her Father Didn’t Like Me Anyway’, ‘Leaving Nancy’, ‘Steal Away’ and a host more.

They have been entertaining audiences worldwide for 36 years. Speaking recently, the band noted: “We are in our 36th year on the road, a long time and even longer if we take into consideration that George, Davey and our late brother Paul were playing as the Buskers and Eddie was playing with Finbar for many years prior to the formation of the Fureys & Davey Arthur – but we are still young!”

Recently President Michael D Higgins attended their concert in Dublin’s National Concert Hall.Their emotive songs stir many emotions….tears and laughter, sadness and joy. A Fureys concert is always a night to remember!
