Palestinian goods on sale at nenagh market

Nenagh Friends of Palestine have annonced that a range of Palestinian made goods will be on sale at Nenagh Farmers Market in Quintin's Way on Saturday December 13th and 20th.

The products include, Zaytoon Olive Oil, Nablus Soap, Bethlehem crosses and candles. A variety of badges, wrist bands and other goods are also on sale.

According to Gearóid Fitzgibbon of Nenagh Friends of Palestine: 'These products will make an ideal gift, or part of a gift pack. They are also an alternative to products made in illegal Israeli settlements in areas like the Dead Sea. Funds collected will go to support the trip to Ireland of the Gaza youth soccer team. Any additional funds will assist on the ground Palestinian and Israeli groups working towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict.'

The group are organising a special window display entitled 'Welcome to the Holy Land - Christmas in occupied Bethlehem.' This will open at 1pm, Saturday, December 13th at No 42, Pearse Street, Nenagh. While Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, the modern day people of that town and region live under ongoing military occupation. The display will highlight some of the current experiences of the original Christian population in Palestine.

Nenagh Friends of Palestine was set up at a meeting held in Nenagh Arts Centre in August following a gathering in Nenagh's Banba Square in support of the beleaguered people of Gaza.
