Art exhibition at borrisokane old church

Borrisokane Community Forum are delighted to announce a display from local renowned photographer Pádraig Ó Flannabhra at the Old Church this Sunday, November 30th.

Pádraig Ó Flannabhra has exhibited widely in Ireland and abroad. He has received many accolades for his portrait and press work and at the Kodak Gold Circle international event in the UK was the winner for the Republic of Ireland.

He is the holder of 10 'Kodak European Gold Awards' - an Irish record - and was awarded the FIPPA (Fellowship Award of the Irish Professional Photographers Association (IPPA) in 2003.  This was followed by the Qualified European Photographer Award (QEP) from the Federation of European Professional Photographers in Brussels 2006.

He has worked closely with photographer colleagues and has contributed to 'Second Sight': a unique pictorial document by members of the Press Photographers Association of Ireland in aid of the Rehabilitation Institute REHAB.  He was a contributor to 'Beyond the Moment': an enduring Photojournalistic record of Irish life and to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the PPAI with proceeds to the Irish charity, Fighting Blindness.
Other published work includes: 'Beyond the Pale' (Dolmen Press, 1986); 'Ireland on the Fringe’ (TAL, 1993); 'Turning a Blind Eye’ (TAL, 1997); Nenagh 'Face 2 Face' (Cló Collchnó, 2010); 'It is Nenagh, it is' (Cló Collchnó, 2011); 'Nenagh : this must be the place' (Cló Collchnó, 2012) and ‘DeLight in Dromineer' (Cló Collchnó, 2013).
