Coonan urges roscrea to assess flood plans

Tipperary TD Noel Coonan is urging Roscrea residents to have their say on draft flood plans for the town. A Public Consultation Day will take place on November 12th in Roscrea Library.

'The draft maps will be on display on the above date and will also be accessible online. I urge constituents to closely assess the plans. There may be consequences down the line following introduction of the plans; possibly leading to planning issues for some areas of land. The draft plans must be given serious consideration and should not be treated lightly,' said Deputy Coonan.

'The draft flood maps have been produced by Jacobs Engineering on behalf of the Office of Public Works for Roscrea. The Public Consultation Day will be held on Wednesday 12th November between 2.00pm to 5.00pm and 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

'The maps are part of the Shannon CFRAM Study that will assess flood risk across the Shannon catchment area and develop Flood Risk Management Plans for areas most at risk of flooding.

'This is an important opportunity for Roscrea residents to comment on the plans before they are finalised,' concluded Deputy Coonan.
