Hay and timber destroyed in farm in barn fire at norwood nenagh

A barn full of hay and timber was destroyed in a fire at Norwood, Nenagh, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.  Members of Nenagh Fire Brigade brought the blaze under control after several hours.

It was just one of a number of incidents that the brigade was called out to over recent days. The crew were also  involved in a clean up of the M7 motorway on Friday night last at Toomevara after a BMW car crashed into the rear of a lorry carrying a load of baled hay on the southbound carriageway. Tyres on a number of vehicles that drove over the debris scattered  on the road following the accident were punctured. The crash caused tailbacks of up to four miles on the motorway which had to be closed for three hours.
