Deadline for nominations for volunteer awards

The deadline for nominations for the seventh annual Volunteer Ireland Awards is next Friday,  October 24th. Volunteer Ireland – the national volunteer development agency, which organises the Awards each year – is urging individuals and organisations from Tipperary to submit nominations over the coming week.

 

The Volunteer Ireland awards are the national awards to celebrate volunteering in Ireland. The Awards aim to celebrate and recognise the thousands of people across Ireland who give their time to benefit others.  The Awards are open to volunteers of all ages working with Irish organisations, and there are 10 different award categories, as well as an overall ‘Volunteer of the Year’ award.

 

 

The 10 categories for the 2014 awards are:Arts, Culture and Media; Animals and Environment; Campaigning and Awareness-Raising; Children and Young People; Community; Education and Training; Health and Disability; International Development; Social Work and Sports and Recreation

 

Nominations for the Awards can be made on http://www.volunteer.ie/events/volunteer-ireland-awards/. The Christine Buckley Volunteer of the Year and the 10 overall category winners will be announced at a gala awards ceremony on Thursday, 4th December, in City Hall, Dublin.
