Celtic off the mark in defeating Killavilla

By Padraig Ryan

Nenagh Celtic kick-started their Premier Division campaign with a 2-1 win over top of the table Killavilla United in the VEC on Sunday.

Goals from Mark Walsh and Szymon Popiela either side of the break gave Henry Newman’s side a vital victory and their first points of the season.

Villa, who scored through Josh Neville, are still in a strong position joint top of the table but this campaign already looks far more challenging than last season’s procession.

Borroway Rovers travelled away to Moneygall on Sunday and produced an excellent first half performance to see off the home side 4-2.
