Pre-season Shields for Thurles Shinrone and BT Harps

The North Tipperary & District League’s annual pre-season Shield finals took place last week with Thurles Town, Shinrone United and BT Harps 'B' claiming the first silverware on offer of the season.

 

Premier Division Final: Thurles Town 3-2 BT Harps 'A'

Thurles Town made it three Premier Division Shield titles on the trot after a hard-fought win over league BT Harps in Thurles on Saturday.

The man of the match award went to Martin Darmody who was a constant threat out wide and it was his delicate chip over the top that sent Christy Burke through for the winner three minutes from time

 

Division 1 Shield Final: Shinrone United 2-0 Moneygall

Shinrone United added to last season’s Division 2 League and Cup double after a fine 2-0 win over Moneygall at the Community Centre in Shinrone last Friday. Renamed from Village FC, goals from Derek McLoughlin and former Killavilla United man Coley Cleary were enough to win the Shield for the Reds 

 

Division 2 Shield Final: BT Harps 'B' 1-0 Holycross 'B'

A solitary goal from veteran Cud Fennell seen BT Harps 'B' claim the Division 2 Shield in a fascinating match in Priory Place, Templemore on Saturday.
