Summer Soccer coming to North Tipp

The North Tipperary & District League will move to summer soccer from March 2019.

In preparation for the switch, the final winter season got underway last weekend with the pre-season Shield competitions in all three divisions with the new league campaign starting in just three weeks time on July 8th.

The 2018 season is to targeted to end in December and the full transfer to Summer football is to happen by March 1st 2019.

The North Tipperary & District League is hoping better weather will entice people to return playing and it also gives options of evening football over the summer months.

This is a big move for the league and the decision was taken after a steady decline in teams over the past few season’s coupled with an extraordinary amount of weather related postponements which made last season run for near forty weeks,” explained NTDL Fixtures Consultant James Kirwan on the Stoppage Time Tipperary website.
