SPAR FAI Primary School 5s County Finals Day

Two Mile Borris/St Kevin's FC plays host to the Tipperary County Finals of the SPAR FAI Primary School 5s programme this week.

The SPAR FAI Primary School 5s programme has seen participation figures grow year on year to become the largest primary schools’ competition in the country. The Tipperary competition is one of the biggest in Ireland only behind Dublin in terms of participation with 110 Primary Schools taking part with the six winners progressing to the Munster Finals next month

The ‘A’ Cup, open to boys and/or mixed teams includes National Schools from Killusty, Cappawhite, Boherlahan, Tankerstown, Grangemockler, Rathkeevin, Littleton, Gurtagarry, Ballinree, Templederry, Youghalarra and Cloughjordan and they played yesterday, 25th April.

The 'A' Cup for girls takes place today, 26th April and involves National Schools from, Tankerstown, Ballytarsna, Ballyporeen, Skeheenarinky, Donaskeigh, Golden, Cappawhite, Cloughjordan, Youghalarra, Rearcross, Lackamore and Moyne.

The ‘B’ Cup, for medium sized schools, takes place on Thursday 27th April with the Boys section involving Fethard, Ballylooby, St Oliver's NS, Gaelscoil Cluian Meala, Templemore, Birdhill, Corville, Carrig NS and Two Mile Borris.

The Girls 'B' section finals are on Friday, 28th April with Gaelscoil Carrick-on-Suir, Cahir GNS, Ballylooby, Sacred Heart NS, Gaelscoil Durlas, Corville, Birdhill NS and Two Mile Morris NS

The ‘C’ Cup, for large schools, also takes place on Friday for Girls with Sisters of Charity, Clonmel; St John the Baptist, Cashel; Presentation Primary, Carrick-on-Suir, St Mary's Nenagh and Convent of Mercy, Newport.

The Boys 'C' competition will wrap things up next Wednesday 3rd May with St John the Baptist, Cashel, St Mary's CBS, Carrick-on-Suir; St Peter & Paul's Clonmel; Monastery School, Tipperary Town; Newport BNS, Ballina NS, Nenagh CBA and Scoil Ailbhe, Thurles taking to the field.
