Ormond dig in to earn crucial win

All Ireland League Division 2A Round 16

Nenagh Ormond 10

UL Bohemians 5

By Enda Treacy in New Ormond Park

Nenagh Ormond produced probably their most rounded performance of the season to hold out against UL Bohemians last Friday night, and in the process give them four badly needed points in their attempt to avoid the drop from division 2A of the All Ireland League.

An extremely impressive team effort was displayed throughout the game, with the defense superb for the most part, with the penalty count much leaner in comparison to previous outings, and with almost every foray into the UL Bohs half reaping points, Nenagh were full value for the win which could prove to be the difference at seasons end.

UL Bohs were looking like they would prove to be tough opposition as they still had promotion ambitions and would have been looking for points to keep up their the momentum but Nenagh could have looked to the fact that they’ve become somewhat of a bogey team for the students, relegating them from 1B last season, as well as recording a tight one-point win away in Limerick earlier in the season.
