Ormond left reeling by Dolphin show

Dolphin 46

Nenagh Ormond 17

Dolphin were emphatic victors over a disappointing Nenagh Ormond on Saturday in the All Ireland League with the visitors over-run in the first half.
Both sides went into this particular contest knowing that it was a crunch encounter at the bottom of the table where they are presently based. There is much jostling to avoid being sucked into the end of season relegation playoffs.

Prior to Saturday’s game, both of these two sides had ever played each other once before at Musgrave Park in a promotion/relegation playoff to division 1B. Given their present circumstances, there was that sort of a feeling in the air with regards to this particular encounter.

The Cork side had a barnstorming first half of play and set the platform for what would ultimately be a fully deserved victory. Nenagh did show signs of improvement and cut the hefty deficit in the second half. But in the end they could have few complaints about the final outcome.

This was defeat number nine of the season from a Nenagh point of view. They are now in eighth spot in the table, level on points with Blackrock College.
