Nenagh powerlifter Amy White continued her remarkable run of form by adding a European title to her medal haul last week.

Already a record-breaking Irish champion, Amy (20) was crowned outright winner at the World Powerlifting Congress/Amateur WPC European Championships at the South Court Hotel in Limerick.

Competing in the Junior (60kg) category, the Nenagh contender successfully lifted a massive combined total of 300kg to take the title. This included a 125kg dead lift, 115kg back squat and 60kg bench press.

Amy was up against some of the best lifters in Europe at the international event, which featured around 500 entrants in all.
