Hogan makes a challenge at Fairyhouse

On Thursday, I was faced with a dilemma whether to head to Fairyhouse for an all flat card or take in a national hunt at Limerick.

However, since jump racing is in my blood the decision was quickly made to head to the outskirts of the Treaty city and in doing so I missed out on seeing the Denis Hogan trained Make A Challenge capture the seven furlong 50-74 handicap.

Making every post a winning one, the son of Invincible Spirit came home two lengths clear of Above The Sky to credit 10lb claimer Joey Sheridan with the second victory of his career.

A 6,500 guinea purchase at Doncaster horses in training sales a year and a half ago, the former Godolphin owned four-year-old was opening his account at the seventh attempt but the manner of his success suggested that there is plenty more to come from him.
