Owners Paul Pardy and Christopher Delaney in happy form following the brilliant victory of Rosbirr Ranger in the final of the 2018 Fair Warrior at Mullingar

Flawless Ranger is the Fairest sprint Warrior

One of the most prestigious events on the Open race sprint calendar, the Mullingar Agri Stores Fair Warrior 400 Yard Stake perennially sees the fastest greyhounds in Ireland converge for battle at the midlands venue and this year, young Roscrea trainer Christopher Delaney repelled all with his wonderful Rosbirr Ranger (Paradise Madison/Wrathchild) completing a flawless passage through the event in a resounding final victory on Saturday.

Beginning his campaign with victory in his first appearance at Mullingar, Rosbirr Ranger added two more heat wins to enter the final with a perfect set of figures on Saturday where his legion of supporters would pray for just one further level start from Trap 5 so that his exceptional early pace could be utilised to maximum effect.

Housed in Trap 5, the middle seed duly exited on terms and within a matter of strides, his 1/1 quote began to look extremely generous. Producing the fastest sectional split-time of the competition, he had established a two length lead before reaching the opening bend. Galloping those tight Mullingar bends with more aplomb in each passing experience, Ranger would settle the final as a contest when stretching readily clear to the back-straight while four lengths in advance of the chasing Lugs Branno and Broadstrand Kiwi. That duo would make marginal gains on the long run to the 400 yard line but with the result beyond doubt throughout, Rosbirr Ranger held two and half lengths in hand to record a truly memorable victory for joint owners Christopher Delaney & Paul Pardy.
