Two Additional Races at Clonmel on Thursday October 4

Horse Racing Ireland has announced there will be two additional hurdle races at Clonmel on Thursday October 4, following the cancellation of two steeplechases on this card. 

These hurdle races are a maiden hurdle for four years old only over two miles and four furlongs and an extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-95 over two miles and four furlongs.

This meeting will now close for entries by 12 noon on Monday October 1 with a new meeting number (386) and the details of the additional races are as follows:-

- The Fethard Maiden Hurdle of €11,000 of which the second will receive €2,200, the third €1,100, the fourth €550 and the fifth €275. A hurdle race for four yrs old only, maidens at starting about two miles, four furlongs and 10 yds. €77 to enter, €22 extra if declared to run. Weights: 4-y-o - 11st 7lb; Fillies allowed - 7lb. Allowances - Horses that have not won a *race allowed - 5lb, *Including flat races under any National Hunt Rules or Rules of Racing

The Carrick-On-Suir Handicap Hurdle of €10,000 (Rated 80-95) of which the second will receive €2,000, the third €1,000, the fourth €500 and the fifth €250. An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards rated 80-95. About two miles, four furlongs and 10 yds. €70 to enter, €20 extra if declared to run. Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each hurdle race won.

 

In addition the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Captain Christy Rated Novice Steeplechase (now 282 H) will be transferred to Gowran Park on Saturday October 6 and run over three miles and one furlong. It will now close for entries by 12 noon on Tuesday October 2.
