Tipperary and Down played out a stormer in the opening round of the All Ireland Intermediate Camogie Championship on Saturday at the Ragg with both claiming a point from the game.

A repeat of the All Ireland semi-final last August, this round one encounter was much tighter, yet Tipp led 1-6 to 0-6 at the break and went on to open up a 2-10 to 0-8 after 45 minutes. However, it was the last quarter that Down dominated and battle their way back into the game and Tipp were lucky to hold out.
