Dan McCormack returned from injury for Borris-Ileigh in their County Hurling League win over Moycarkey/Borris

Nenagh impress in county final rematch

Last weekend saw a number of rearranged games played in the County Hurling League.

In division 1 group 1 on Friday night, Nenagh Éire Óg had a comfortable 2-18 to 1-9 win over Clonoulty/Rossmore in Clonoulty.

Having met in last year’s county senior decider this was expected to be a close affair and by half time the game was following the script with Nenagh winning by two points, 1-8 to 1-6. Tommy Heffernan and Timmy Hammersley got the goals.

The second half turned into a one-sided match as Nenagh pulled away in style outscoring their opponents 1-9 to 0-2 with Paddy Murphy getting the Éire Óg goal. Mark Tuite in particular had a fine game scoring a personal tally of 0-10 while Tommy Heffernan finished with 1-3.

In group 2, Borris-Ileigh handed a heavy 4-19 to 0-13 beating to Moycarkey/Borris in Littleton on Sunday, in a game which saw Dan McCormack return from a shoulder injury.
