Tipp minors off to winning start

Tipperary 0-13

Cork 1-7

The Tipperary minor team got their All Ireland series off to the perfect start with a three point victory over old rivals Cork on Saturday.

The first half belonged to the hosts who rarely allowed the visitors gain any possession and when they did, all threats were snuffed out with solid defending.

However, the second half was a different matter with the home side pushed to the limits and they were fortunate to have a good lead built up but the squad dug deep to hold out and take the points. This was a great start to the campaign from Cian Treacy’s side and with a major test against Dublin to come in two weeks time, and this win against a fancied Cork side will surely stand them well. Dublin defeated Wexford in the other game in the group, 2-14 to 0-11.
