ARMAGH v TIPPERARY

Athletic Grounds, Armagh

Sunday 24th February

Throw-in @ 2.00pm

Referee: Jerome Henry (Mayo)

Tipperary return to the scene of one of their most famous recent victories as they head north to face Armagh in round four of the Allianz Football League division 2 on Sunday.

Just under two years after Michael Quinlivan scored a last gasp goal to snatch promotion from division 3 from under the noses of the Orchard men, Tipperary head back to the Athletic Grounds aiming to secure another vital two points which would go a long way to securing their division 2 status for another season.

The second tier has been as advertised before the campaign started with all bar Fermanagh having suffered a loss so far with Cork the only side to register a win.

Division 2 has been so competitive and has been over the last few years,” admitted Tipperary stalwart Brian Fox.

Nothing separates the teams, there has been four draws already so you can't really target a specific game to get points because you want to get points in every game.

You couldn't say at the start of the league that Armagh would have drawn with Kildare and Clare, yet Donegal beat Clare and should have lost to Meath. I use those two examples as Donegal and Kildare are probably the two favourites to go back up to division 1.”
