Dates confirmed for Munster Under 20 Championships

Munster GAA have confirmed the dates for the 2019 Bord Gais Energy Under 20 Hurling Championship and the EirGrid Under 20 Football Championship.
All these games will take place in July to accommodate players sitting the Leaving Cert exams in June or 3rd Level College exams in May, however it does mean a busy period of players on senior inter-county teams should they reach the latter stages of the championship.

In the new under 20 hurling championship, Cork and Waterford will meet in the quarter final on Wednesday 3rd July in Cork, three days after the Munster senior hurling final.

The Munster semi-finals will take place a week later with Liam Cahill's Tipperary hosting Waterford in the first semi-final on Tuesday 9th July, possibly five or six days before an All Ireland senior hurling championship quarter final, should Tipperary be involved.

Clare will meet the winners of Cork v Limerick in the second semi-final on Wednesday 10th July with the final pencilled in for Tuesday 23rd July, again five or six days before an All Ireland senior hurling championship semi-final.

Tom McGlinchey's under 20 footballers will begin their championship campaign on Tuesday 2nd July with a home quarter final against Limerick with Waterford hosting Clare in the second quarter-final on the same evening.

The semi-finals will be played on Thursday 11th July and if Tipperary are successful they will host Kerry in Semple Stadium with Cork playing the winners of Waterford or Clare in the other semi-final on the same evening with the Munster final down for Wednesday 17th July.
