Sidelined O'Dwyer eager to get back

Dual star Orla O'Dwyer is determined to fight off a shoulder injury and have a brilliant 2019 with both Tipperary Senior Camogie and Ladies Football teams.

"I got surgery on my shoulder last November, so I'm out until the middle of February, so I'm ruling out the first two matches with the Camogie team, and the first two with the football, and then try and focus on college games with UL then," O'Dwyer said at the launch of Future Proof Media.

"I'm just going to take it week-by-week and see how I am. Management know as well that girls who are in college aren't really being prioritised for the league, so I'll just see how it goes.

"Going watching training is hard at times, but I'll be back soon and I'll just look after it now, and I'm looking forward to the league and the Championship, and hopefully Tipperary will be successful." she said.

Orla picked up the injury while in Club Camogie action last Summer for Cashel against Kilruane in the Championship. Two months later she was back in UL doing gymnastics, and done a tumble and the injury re-occurred, so she decided surgery was the only option.

O'Dwyer underwent surgery in Tralee, under surgeon Ross Kingston.

It's the longest period that O'Dwyer has spent on the sidelines.

"One thing that has been testing me most the past two months is my patience, and sitting down doing nothing."
