First night victory a good foundation - Sheedy

Liam Sheedy couldn't have summed it up better in reflecting on a winning start to his second reign in charge of the Tipperary senior hurlers against Limerick last Friday night.

4-14 is a good score,” he added.

I'm very happy to get the four goals, we showed a real goal instinct about us which is important.

I would be a little critical of us in the second half where we could have tipped on the points and put another bit of distance between us and we didn't and nearly paid a heavy price for it.

Look it, you can't ask them to dampen down their enthusiasm to find the back of the net but that was a very good Limerick team, they had eight of their starting team from the All Ireland final, naturally enough they are only trotting back while we have a lot of work done over the last few weeks while they are only starting back.”
