The Tipperary Water U21 A and B hurling championships are taking shape following divisional results over the past two weekends.

In the North Tipp U21A Kilruane MacDonaghs raced into an early lead against Toomevara in Borrisokane only to see it clawed back as Toomevara then pushed on to claim the title on a score line of 0-14 to 0-10.

In the Mid U21A Thurles Sarsfields held out to claim the title as they saw off the Holycross-Ballycahill challenge 2-17 to 2-14 in the Ragg. Meanwhile in the Mid U21B Moyne-Templetuohy/Thurles Gaels took the honours here with a 1-18 to 1-10 victory over Gortnahoe-Glengoole in Templemore.

Moving to the South U21B championship, Carrick Davins finally got the better of Mullinahone after extra time, with the Carrick men prevailing.

POST PRIMARY ACTION

Though the three Tipperary schools involved in this year's Dr. Harty Cup Under 19A hurling are through to the last eight, there was mixed results for the two teams in the final league rounds action last week.

Nenagh CBS were up against Gaelcholáiste Mhuire an Mhainistir Thuaigh and recorded a 10 point victory to secure their spot in the knock out stages. Final score in Kilfinane was Nenagh CBS 3-10 Gaelcholáiste Mhuire an Mhainistir Thuaigh 0-9.

Thurles CBS were already through in this group of 3, so their game against Christian Brothers College Cork decided who would top the table. Unfortunately, for Thurles they had to settle for second best on the day going down 4-19 to 1-13.

The last 8 therefore are as follows starting with the four teams that top each league table, Coláiste Cholmáin Fermoy, CBS Midleton, John the Baptist Community School, Christian Brothers College Cork, Nenagh CBS, De La Salle College Waterford, Our Lady's Secondary School Templemore and Thurles CBS.

Best wishes to Clonmel High School in Corn Ui Mhuiri Group B (19 A Football) Round 3 in Cappamore at 1:30pm this Wednesday where they will play St. Flannan's College Ennis.

For fixtures / results and match reports, check out the Munster GAA Post Primary Schools web site at www.munstergaapps.ie

Locally, in Tipperary Post Primary action there was three finals played within the past week and we send congratulations to the winning schools. In the Sciath Ui Cathain (1st Year) Scoil Ruain Killenaule defeated Borrisokane CC 3-11 to 2-5. In the U15B Cusack Cup Thurles CBS held off the challenge of High School Clonmel 2-10 to 1-11 and in the U15C Cistercian College Roscrea got the better of St. Joseph's Borrisoleigh in a game which had plenty of goals, with the final score reading 7-2 to 4-7.
