Moycarkey-Borris rejoin the county’s hurling elite after their narrow win over Mid rivals JK Brackens in a thrilling O Riain Cup semi-final on Saturday sent them through to the final where they will face Burgess.

It was a huge win for Moycarkey-Borris who have struggled in recent years in the face of relegation but building on the success of their minor sides in the last two years, they are poised to mix it with the big boys in next year’s Dan Breen Cup campaign.

First up however is the O Riain final against Burgess and while they were the better side in this contest, it could easily have slipped from their grasp. A slow start did not help their cause and they trailed by 0-5 to 0-1 after 13 minutes.
