A blistering final ten minutes from JK Brackens in which they scored six unanswered points saw the Templemore men move one step closer to roinn 1 for next year, edging out Silvermines in what was a classic Seamus O Riain Cup quarter-final last Sunday.

In what was certainly the game of the weekend, both sides served up a high scoring contest, with the forwards certainly hogging the majority of the limelight.

Imperious performances from Shane Scully and the diminutive Andrew Ormonde, along with a significant contribution from the bench was the difference for JK Brackens.

But Silvermines certainly contributed to what was a thriller with Jason Forde, Daniel Keogh and Ronan Sherlock all putting in impressive performances, but they just ran out of steam down the home stretch and had no answer to a JK Brackens team full of youth and energy, and who closed out the game impressively.
