Shannon Rovers fend off Gortnahoe to progress

Two late points from Padraic O’Meara gave Shannon Rovers a deserved two point win over a fancied Gortnahoe/Glengoole last Sunday to progress to the quarter finals of the County Intermediate Hurling Championship.

In what proved to be a shootout between Alan Hogan and Keane Hayes, it was Hogan who edged it as man of the match. Not alone could he score but he also provided one or two assists into the bargain but one of his one of his points were monster efforts from inside his own half.

Scores were level three times in the opening thirteen minutes.
