Tipperary senior and intermediate manager Bill Mullaney

Busy Saturday in store for Tipp Camogie

With Tipperary in two All Ireland semi-finals in camogie this Saturday, it is going to be a demanding day for all involved in the game in the Premier County.

With the All Ireland Hurling final this Sunday, moving the intermediate semi-final to Sunday wasn't possible with the senior semi-finals already tied into a double-header at Semple Stadium, Thurles this Saturday evening with live television coverage of Kilkenny v Galway at 5.30pm and Tipperary v Cork at 7.15pm.

Tipperary aren't the only county going on the double this Saturday with Cork and Galway also in an intermediate semi-final which will be played here in Nenagh at 2.00pm, with both sides then heading for Thurles ahead of their senior semi-finals later in the evening.

For Tipperary, whose management are also over the senior and intermediate panels, they will have a little further to travel as the intermediate semi-final against Down has been fixed for Coralstown, Kinnegad, Co. Westmeath at 1.15pm.

With that game having a finish of around 2.50pm, not including extra time, the management team headed up by Bill Mullaney, then have to make the 130km journey to Thurles for the senior game which doesn't start until 7.15pm which should give them plenty of time to get there without preparations being affected.

Logistically it will be very hard for us,” admitted Bill Mullaney.

We have a plan in place to cope with the task. We have good people with lots of experience in managing these days so hopefully it will pass without too much concern,” he said.

The Newport/Ballinahinch club man is asking all Tipperary camogie and hurling supporters to come out in big numbers on 18th to support both matches.

It would be great, win lose or draw to have all of Tipp creating an atmosphere and generating support for two deserving teams,” he said.
