Ty students spell out the charity CRY in their school hall before they set out on the fun run.

St Mary's TY students take part in charity fun run

As part of the Event Management and Sports Administration Module for the @GaaFutureLeaders subject, students of 4C at St Mary's Secondary School took on the challenge to organise a 5km run/walk in aid of CRY, a charity that seeks to raise awareness of the condition known as Sudden Cardiac Death.

Each student raised at least €5 for the run and received a T-shirt which was worn on the day. Luckily the weather gods were kind with brilliant autumnal sunshine providing a perfect backdrop to a really worthy effort.

Students that completed the run in under an hour will be entered into a draw for a Samsung Tablet courtesy of the schools IT support team from Infinity. The draw was great idea as it encouraged students to try their best. Thanks to our teachers, especially Ms Hogan, for all their help in enabling us to use our skills in organising such events
