Odds shorten on Drom & Inch in race for Dan Breen Cup

Drom-Inch have been backed to beat their outside odds and land a Tipperary Senior Club Hurling title after a dramatic quarter-final victory over Borris-Ileigh at the weekend.

Last year’s All-Ireland finalists were denied in a penalty shootout after a dramatic finale at Semple Stadium saw the net bulge three times in injury time at the end of the second half.

Drom-Inch are now 15/2 shots from 12/1 with BoyleSports to go on and claim the Tipperary club title, with Loughmore Castleleiney hot on the heels of 6/4 favourites Kiladangan at the head of the betting. Nenagh Eire Og remain in the mix after booking their spot in the semi-finals following their win over Thurles Sarsfields.

Meanwhile, defending All-Ireland champions Ballyhale Shamrocks are the 5/4 favourites to retain their status as Kilkenny champions, with Bennettsbridge (11/1 from 14/1) and Erin’s Own (20/1 from 25/1) coming in for some outside support following weekend victories.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “There was no shortage of drama at Semple Stadium at the weekend and the scalp of last season’s All-Ireland runners-up has caught the eye of local punters. Drom-Inch remain outsiders in Tipperary but with the liability creeping up, we’ve had to clip them into 15/2 from 12/1.”
