'Blinded in the Dark, Searching for the Light, Our Call to Awakening' by first-time Nenagh author Damian Mitchell, has now hit the shelves in the United States.  

Published by New York-based Austin Macauley, Damian's book was released on in the States on January 31st.

Do you believe in the paranormal? Spiritual entities that exist beyond the scope of our understanding? Damian J Mitchell recounts his experiences of purchasing a new home in Nenagh with his girlfriend in 2007, the same estate she grew up in. A young couple eager to move in together and start a family, only to realise they're walking in to a living nightmare.

After the birth of their first child, Damian and his girlfriend began to notice the paranormal forces that were lingering in his new home, constantly terrifying him and his family to no end. What was a joyous time for the couple soon became one of the most terrifying, as they struggled to understand this mysterious turn of events.

After having twins, Damian was convinced of this spiritual entity invading his home as not only he and his wife felt these presences, but now his children did too.
Disagreeing with the modern-day practices of psychiatric medication, Damian turned to his faith for a solution to his problems: “I felt there was a deeper answer to these mysteries of life and battled hard to find these answers,” he said. “I prayed for the answers so many times when I was going through intense suffering and at this stage in my life God has answered my prayers.” 

Damian's shared experiences with this intrusive spirit are well written and a subtly terrifying narrative. His debut book is one that’ll leave readers stunned and checking that noise coming from the closet.

Damian lives in Nenagh and is a qualified physical therapist. He is a husband and father to four beautiful girls. He has played physical games like soccer and kickboxing most of his life.

Later in life, his interest grew stronger in spirituality. He literally had no choice; it was either continue to live in the illusion of reality and continue suffering, or begin spiritual practice and protect his family, and ultimately relieve them from suffering. His passion is spirituality and teaching others what he has learned; this is why he has written this book. He has gained immense knowledge and understanding of the subtle world/spirit world through many terrifying experiences and some pleasant experiences too.

He had never written a book before and only began writing down experiences and soon realised the journey had a purpose and he was meant to write this book to help others. He believes it was a destined journey of learning, so he could share this information with others who are suffering.
