Children invited to design artwork for festival
Do you have a budding artist in the family? Does your child like to draw, paint or design?
Well this is their chance to have their work seen on a much bigger scale - online, on posters and fliers and maybe even on T-shirts, as today a call out went out for children to design the artwork for a major new festival being launched in Dublin next month - Right Here Right Now! The Ark’s Festival of Children. The child whose design is chosen will have the chance to work with a leading design team to develop their idea through a professional design process to finished product.
Right Here Right Now! is the first festival of its kind in Ireland - a festival created for children – by children! This means that children will be integral to the planning and decision-making in creating the festival. Taking place from June 14th-16th, the festival will coincide with Cruinniú na nÓg, Ireland’s national day of creativity for children and young people, and it will be a celebration of art, culture and children’s rights – ensuring that children are seen and heard across Dublin.
The team at The Ark behind the festival, are looking for children of all ages who love drawing, painting and designing to submit their ideas for the artwork for the festival. This artwork will be used to represent and promote the festival,
The submissions will be reviewed by a panel of children from The Ark’s Children’s Council, who will work with The Ark’s design and communications team to pick the artwork that best reflects the 2019 festival.
The child behind the chosen design will then work with this panel and our designers to develop their idea through a professional design process to finished products. They will get to see how professional designers work and an insight into the world of graphic design and marketing!
Details: The Ark are looking for a logo and/or a poster image that sums up the spirit of Right Here Right Now! The Ark’s Festival of Children, ensuring that it is clear that this is all about children, arts and culture. It should be A4 in size and can be done in any material or style you want to use – pencil, paint, collage, digital or 3D.

Closing date for submissions: 5pm Thursday, February 28th.
