Branch session in Ballycomm Hall.

Nollaig na mBan celebration in Ballycommon Hall

The turkey is finished, the New Year rung in and now for Nollaig na mBan. Traditionally a rest day to end out the Christmas season this year the Muinitr na Tire committee of  Ballycommon Hall have invited Baile Uí Choimín CCÉ branch to participate in an open house from 4 to 6pm on Sunday, January 6th.  A great opportunity for a nice session to round off the Christmas.

Before we turn into the New Year and hear what resolutions are being made, a quick reflection on a great day before Christmas when Branch Members and In Tune for Life Orchestra members supported the Tractor run through Nenagh.  A great way to end 2018; congratulation to Albert Purcell and Ballycommon Sponsored Ride for another successful charity promotion.  There will be more news on the exciting Phil Coulter concerted in July as the year progresses, but for now, it is time for our own resolutions.  Among the resolutions for Ballycommon Branch in 2019 are an exchange with a Branch from another county and also to promote on Gaeilge more. After the session this Sunday our first Oíche Cheoil of 2019 will be on the 18th January when the Branch hopes to be able to update members on both initiatives.

Although only January our Grupaí Cheoil and Céilí Bands have commenced practice for this summer's fleadh.  It doesn't be long coming around.  Anyone who missed the pre-Christmas auditions and are interested should contact the mentors or teachers for guidance.

Ballycommon CCÉ makes great use of the Muintir na Tire hall.  All members are very familiar with this fine facility.  It is a great asset to be able to utilise, for Meetings, Practices, Rehearsals and of course our regular Oíche Cheoil.  Sunday January 6th is an opportunity for Ballycommon CCÉ to show our appreciation of the hall.  More importantly it is also a  chance for our neighbours and friends to call in for a get together of music, song, chat and craic and to see and hear the talent on our doorstep.
