Christmas Day swim at Youghal Quay

IT is that time of the year again when the brave and the bold step up to raise money for charity and other very worthy causes by taking part in the annual Christmas Day Swim at Youghal Quay.

Four very worthy causes will benefit from what will be the 27th successive year that the swim has been held in the cold waters of Lough Derg.

Funds raised this year will go to CARMHA, a newly registered charity based in Nenagh that will be providing free professional counselling and peer support services for people with addiction and mental Health issues. Also benefiting will be Saint Cronan's Services in Nenagh, the Running for Josie campaign mounted by former Tipperary hurler, Seamus Hennessy and the Amanda Stapleton Fund.

Anyone who wants further information on the swim or would like to contribute to the charities or take a sponsorship card can contact Tony O' Flaherty on 087-299 8634
