Green light for Enable Ireland plan

Enable Ireland has received conditional planning permission for the development of a day centre for adults with disabilities in Nenagh.

Tipperary Co Council has granted permission for the change of use of an existing workshop opposite the former aluminium factory site at Tyone. The location is to now be used as a day centre for adults with disabilities.

Enable Ireland already runs a purpose-built children's respite facility, 'Teach Saoirse', on Nenagh's Joe Daly Road. This facility provides services to 40 children with a range of disabilities.

The charity has also been providing a day service for adults at the Scouts Hall. Enable Ireland recently indicated that it hopes to open the new facility at Tyone before the end of this year.
