Building rammed in Roscrea raid

Thieves used a car to break into a business premises in Roscrea last week.


The incident happened on the old Dublin road at around 2.30am on Thursday. A car was reversed into a door and a number of occupants gained access to a bar area, from where they stole a cigarette machine.


Earlier on the same night, a number of culprits broke into a shop on Castle St and stole cash from the till. A black-coloured car was seen in the area at the time. Gardaí investigating these incidents believe the same vehicle may have been used in crimes reported in the Templemore district around the same time.


Also in Roscrea last Thursday, a number of males entered a supermarket around 6pm and left without paying for a large quantity of alcohol. Gardaí recovered the property in resalable condition and are still seeking the culprits involved.


Gardaí are also investigating a robbery incident at Parkmore, Roscrea, last Sunday. A male was reportedly attacked and a number of items were stolen from him. The incident happened in the early hours of the morning; anyone with information is asked to contact Roscrea Garda Station.
