Local estates taken in charge

Tipperary Co Council has taken in charge eight more housing estates in Nenagh Municipal District.

The estates include Gurteen Grove, Rathcabbin; Derry Close, Rathcabbin; Silver Mews, Nenagh; Lough Derg Cottages, Dromineer; Harbour View, Dromineer; Derg Manor, Dromineer; Pallas Derg, Newtown and Killeen Court, Borrisokane.

At last month's district meeting, Cllr John Carroll (FF) welcomed the formal taking in charge, highlighting in particular Pallas Derg, Derg Manor and Harbour View. He said considerable progress has been made by the council in the taking in charge of many housing estates across the district over a number of years, with several other housing estates in the pipeline to be taken in charge in the months ahead. This he said would give reassurance to many local residents.

Cllr Ger Darcy (FG) said it was particularly important for local residents to have the three Dromineer estates taken in charge. Cllr Michael O'Meara (Ind) said there are no lights working in Derry Close; he asked the council to prioritise the situation there.
