THE sixth annual Ballycommon Sponsored Ride proved a great success with 202 horses and riders taking part and more than €32,000 raised so far.

Held last Sunday week, the event attracted the largest attendance yet, due in no small part to the 'Celebrity' wall challenge. Well-known local people attempted horse jumping as part of the BSR's fundraising efforts, which this year is for the Mírmeara autism unit at Kiladangan NS.

The school and organisers of the Ballycommon Sponsored Ride would like to thank everyone who took part in the event and supported it in any way. A special thanks goes to the local landowners, the North Tipperary Foxhounds, and the many sponsors of the event.

A presentation and auction night will take place at the Thatched Cottage in Ballycommon on Saturday April 16th. Tickets can be purchased for €10. For more information contact 0872430546 and visit the Facebook page 'Bally Common Sr'.
