GAA's Iconic Photo Book Returns
GAA President Jarlath Burns launches 29th edition of ‘A Season of Sundays’ which includes stunning Tipperary GAA shots
Sponsored by Forvis Mazars, ‘A Season of Sundays’ has become the definitive visual chronicle of the GAA season, showcasing the stunning collection of images captured by Sportsfile’s award-winning photographers. On each of the 180 pages, ‘A Season of Sundays’ captures the passion, drama, and community spirit that makes GAA so special, with this year’s edition featuring football legend and GAA GPA Player of the Year, David Clifford on the cover.
From celebratory highs to heartwarming moments, such as Kilkenny forward TJ Reid embracing his daughter Harper Mary following a narrow defeat to Tipperary, ‘A Season of Sundays’ captures the essence of the GAA.
Speaking at the launch, the book’s publisher and Sportsfile owner, Ray McManus, said,
“They say that a picture paints a thousand words, and I believe this year’s edition of A Season of Sundays does dispense tins of paint! At the start of the year who would have predicted the thrilling matches and results we had the privilege of recording.
Our photographers have travelled the thirty-two counties of Ireland, London and New York to capture what was a brilliant series of games.
I am grateful to the Sportsfile staff, to Alan Milton in the GAA, who has added some fine captions top the photographs, and to, Forvis Mazars for their support, without which, the project would not be possible”
Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, Jarlath Burns said, “As December and year end is once again upon us, I am delighted to welcome the publication of yet another issue of ‘A Season of Sundays’.
In keeping with the earlier offerings, edition number 29 captures the highlights of the year past in its own unique way, shining a light on the big moments but also those off-Broadway, that might otherwise go uncaptured.
Ray McManus and his Sportsfile photographers have done us a service in producing the latest collection of superb photographs and I suspect that once I have digested the 2025 edition, I will be looking forward to the milestone issue that will be number 30 next year”.
Speaking at the launch, Forvis Mazars Managing Partner, Tom O’Brien said, “Forvis Mazars is proud to support ‘A Season of Sundays’. Ray McManus and his team at Sportsfile have once again done a magnificent job in producing this special publication that so vividly captures the moments that defined the 2025 GAA season. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Ray and celebrating the 30th anniversary of ‘A Season of Sundays’ in 2026”.
An ideal gift for any GAA fan, the book is available at bookstores nationwide and online at www.sportsfile.com and is priced at €29.95.
