A special gift for Mater patients
Jarlath Regan and the Mater Hospital Foundation are partnering this Christmas to call on people across Co Tipperary and right across Ireland to help wrap patients in care by giving a special gift that will help bring moments of joy, happiness and hope this Christmas, and beyond.
There are so many ways to support the Mater this Christmas from buying a ticket for the Festive €5,000 Christmas Raffle with five chances to win €1,000 or purchasing a virtual Christmas card, to donating to the Mater Hospital Foundation's Christmas Appeal.
Comedian, writer and illustrator Jarlath Regan has paid a special visit to the Mater to kick off the Mater Hospital Foundation's Wrapped in Care Christmas Campaign.
The 'Irishman Abroad' podcast host joined nurses and staff from across the hospital to spread some festive cheer and to help raise funds and awareness for patients in the hospital, especially those who are too sick to go home for Christmas.
The Mater Hospital Foundation exists to give every patient, and every family that loves them, the very best care in the Mater Public Hospital. With the help of supporters across the country, the foundation is committed to raising vital funds until exceptional care is always there, for everyone.
Jarlath says: “I’m so proud to be able to support The Mater with this special Christmas appeal. We are all inclined to forget about the tireless work that goes on throughout the holiday season whether it’s your Mammy conjuring a gorgeous meal out of nothing or the staff in the Mater tending to those most in need. The Mater has done a huge amount for me personally over the years. It’s only right that we all give back in whatever way we can at Christmas.”
Chief Executive of the Mater Hospital Foundation, Mary Moorhead, adds: “Jarlath is a true source of joy and laughter for so many, especially through his hilarious and heartfelt Irish Mammy sketches that are so popular. We’re absolutely thrilled to have him bring that same humour and warmth into the hospital this Christmas, helping us wrap our patients in care and kindness through this special campaign.”
