Nenagh brass band in Cobh

Members of Nenagh Ormond Brass Band spent a wonderful afternoon in Cobh, Co Cork, on Saturday last.

Participating in a gathering of bands (which also included Cobh Confraternity Band and St John’s Band, Limerick), Nenagh Ormond Brass Band gave a wonderful recital on the bandstand in John F Kennedy Park.

This is a very famous bandstand and bands from all over the world have performed on it.

A nice light selection of music was provided, which was very well received by the large audience.

The conclusion of the afternoon was a wonderful experience.

All three bands combined as one massed band of 62 performers to give a rousing selection of music to the passengers and crew of the cruise ship, Regal Princess, prior to its departure from Cobh.

The large audience on the Quayside were also entertained by the bands during the highly entertaining afternoon.

It was an unforgettable experience for everyone.

The event was organised by Cobh Confraternity Band with support from the Arts Office, Cork County Council and Cobh Tourism.
