Community Team of the Year accolade for Tesco Nenagh

Colleagues from Tesco Nenagh were among the big winners at the 2021 Tesco Ireland Values Awards held in a virtual event recently. The Tesco Values Awards recognise excellence amongst the retailer’s 13,000-strong workforce across multiple categories. Colleagues are nominated for going the extra mile for customers or communities.

The Community Team, led by Antoinette Fahy, took home the coveted trophy for the Community Team of the Year. Recognised for their dedication and tenacity, the Nenagh team continue to go the extra mile for fundraising, managing local charitable groups in receipt of food surplus donations, and engaging good causes involved in the Community Fund in the Nenagh area.

Tesco colleagues from all over Ireland tuned in to the awards, which were created to recognise excellence amongst the 13,000-colleague community. On the night, teams were honoured for their outstanding work with the company in the last year. The different categories include team of the year awards across community, fresh, distribution centre, office and stores teams. There were also awards for the Best Grocery Home Shopping, F&F and Tesco Mobile teams, and three standout categories on the night were the Store Manager of the Year, ‘Everyone is Welcome’ inclusion award and the newly created Hero award 2021.

Kari Daniels, CEO, Tesco Ireland, said: “I am very proud of the lengths our colleagues from across the country go to serve our customers and communities every day. These awards allow us to celebrate those exceptional contributions, as recognised by the colleagues that they work with. These winners represent the 13,000 colleagues across Ireland who go above and beyond for their fellow colleagues and local communities every day. I congratulate and thank Team Nenagh for their hard work and ongoing dedication to serving our communities a little better every day.”
