North Tipp Hospice launches campervan as grand prize

Friday, October 29, sees the launch of North Tipperary Hospice’s most ambitious fundraising project to date involving a limited draw for a beautiful five-berth Etrusco T7400 SB campervan worth €75,000.

To be in with a chance, all one has to do is log in to winacamper.ie and for the modest sum of €25 some lucky punter will be driving away in this fabulous prize.

Even a quick glance through the specification of this state-of-art vehicle reveals a catalogue of all that is luxurious in the world of campervans - air conditioning, cruise control, power steering, flyscreens and blackout blinds on windows as well as a fridge freezer and three-ring hob. There is also a separate shower and toilet. All in all the ultimate in luxury to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience wherever your fancy takes you. The complete specification is available on the draw website. To cap it all you only need a regular class B driving licence and with a road tax of only €104 and a typical insurance costing on average a mere €350 you’re good to go for less than €500.

Speaking before the launch, Board of Management Chairman, Paddy Cadell, said: “The restrictions imposed to combat the coronavirus have severely impacted our ability to raise the funds required to continue the provision of our in-home care and cancer support services, which have been such an important source of support for very many families throughout North Tipperary since the Hospice Movement was founded over 30 years ago. Practically all our traditional fundraising activities, including our annual sunflower days and coffee mornings, have had to be abandoned for the past two years, as well as the many other events organised by individuals and groups, which have contributed so generously to ensure the necessary funds were always available. We have no doubt that the support we have had down through the years will be there yet again and I am confident that this ambitious project will be a resounding success.”

Draw co-ordinator, Paddy Heffernan, said: “I am excited by the challenge of leading a strong and committed group of volunteers, who have done such excellent work over many years in raising the funds we require to continue the level of service on which so many cancer patients and their families depend. We are fortunate to have secured the services of the ‘winacamper’ team, who have already delivered very successful similar projects for Moneygall Football Club and more recently JK Brackens GAA Club in Templemore. We feel confident that, with their experience, we will see this project to a very successful conclusion. We are also grateful to Pat Horan and his staff for sourcing this campervan for us as, given the huge demand for vehicles such as this they have become as scarce as the proverbial hen’s teeth.”

Tickets, limited to 7,995, are available to purchase for €25 by logging in to winacamper.ie. Arrangements will also be in place to facilitate those who are not in a position to purchase tickets online. Our committee volunteers will be able to facilitate off-line sales and we also intend to visit various locations and events throughout the county where tickets will also be available. As our Chairman, Paddy, has said, we are confident that the support to which we have become accustomed will, yet again, be there in spades and we will be in a position to continue to deliver our services to people who need us throughout the county.
