Ormond discover AIL schedule

Saturday 2nd October is the date all Nenagh Ormond senior rugby players will be gearing themselves towards after the fixtures for the 2021/2022 Energia All-Ireland League Division 2A were released.

Nenagh Ormond haven’t played a game in the All-Ireland League since 28th February 2020 when the season was brought to a halt due to the start of Covid restrictions.

Ormond haven’t played a match since October 10th last year when they defeated UL Bohemian in the Munster Community Series, designed to restart rugby after the initial lockdown but that competition was eventually halted and has been cancelled.

Nenagh will begin their league campaign at home to MU Barnhall on October 2nd before they face Cashel in the first of the Tipperary derbies a week later, with the second on the penultimate weekend of the season on April 2nd 2022.

Nenagh will face nine pre-Christmas fixtures with the remainder in the New Year with the top team in the division being promoted to division 1B while teams 2, 3 & 4 will go into the promotion playoffs with the second bottom team from division 1B. In terms of relegation, the bottom team will drop to division 2B while the second bottom team will go into the relegation playoff with teams 2, 3 & 4 in division 2B.

However, Nenagh Ormond should be back in action before October with the dates for the first rounds of the Limerick Charity Cup and Munster Senior Cup to be confirmed for late August/early September.
