Gardaí have confirmed that a report was made in relation to the shooting of a number of swans.

Investigation into shooting of swans

An incident in which several swans were shot dead outside Nenagh is being investigated by authorities.

It is understood that the incident happened in the Carney area earlier this month. Gardaí have confirmed that a report was made in relation to the shooting of a number of swans and an investigation is ongoing. The National Parks and Wildlife Service has also been made aware of the incident.

Elsewhere, gardaí arrested a male under the Public Order Act after being called to Nenagh hospital at 6.30pm last Thursday.

A quantity of cannabis was discovered when gardaí searched a property at Ormond Drive, Nenagh, on Tuesday of last week. Investigations are ongoing.

A trespassing incident at the old Grant’s Hotel premises in Roscrea is also under investigation. Two males were reportedly found in the building and fled the scene at 7pm last Tuesday week.

Also in the last week, gardaí arrested a male motorist on suspicion of drug driving on the M7 motorway at 8pm last Thursday. He was taken to Nenagh Garda Station and the vehicle was seized. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
