The lucky punter scratched their way to the €75,000 top prize.

€75k scratch card win for lucky Tipp player

A Tipperary winner has spoken of their overwhelming joy after revealing a €75,000 win on an All Cash Platinum scratch card. The lucky Tipperary player, who purchased their winning €5 scratch card at Jerry’s Newsagents on Bank Place in Tipperary Town, said that they couldn’t believe their luck when they scratched their way to the €75,000 top prize.

The delighted winner, who has chosen to remain private, eagerly asked family members to check their ticket to confirm the win after revealing the top prize amount: “I was convinced I was seeing things when I scratched the ticket initially. I ran straight downstairs to show my family but I don’t think they believed me – I’m not sure if they even believe it now. I still haven’t fully taken the news in myself – it’s the most surreal thing to ever happen!”

The joyous Tipperary player has had a couple of weeks to let their huge €75,000 win sink in properly and their focus has now turned to their spending plans which includes helping family members as well as achieving a long term personal goal.

“This really couldn’t have come at a better time. I have been hoping to return to college for quite a while so this win has really made that possible. College fees and all the other expenses that go along with studying can really mount up so I’m delighted that I can plan for that now. I hope to hear back from the college soon about my place on the course.”

Following this latest scratch card win, the National Lottery has confirmed that there are still six top prizes of €75,000 remaining on the popular €5 All Cash Platinum scratch card.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total more than €5.8 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 33 years ago. In 2020 alone, €254 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
