North tipp dominate south tipp in tipperary derby at kennedy cup

The NTSFL continued to show their class on Thursday morning in the Kennedy Cup with a dominant victory in the Tipperary Derby, winning 4-0 over TSSFL.

The game itself is for seeding and the result now guarantees the NTSFL will be ranked above the TSSDL in the Kennedy Cup next season.

The NTSFL roared into a lead with Barry Coffey of Nenagh AFC netting his eigth goal to go up 1-0 which it remained as to half time, with North Tipp hitting the post twice and coming close on several occassions, though Nenagh AFC goalkeeper, Callan Scully needed to pull off two brilliant saves before the half.

In the second half Barry Coffey added his ninth goal of the tournament before Danny Flanagan and Ben Stapleton made it 4-0 and a comprehensive win for North Tipp.

Both teams had bowed out of the Kennedy Cup Bowl in the Quarter Final on Wednesday with the NTSFL unfortunate to lose on penalties to Wexford after a brilliant group stage where they finished level on points with Kilkenny and Dublin League, tournament favourites.

Thursday's two games are for seeding and this victory now leaves confidence high for the 5.30pm game against Limerick District or Clare.
