Exciting new Charity Rugby clinics in April
A new series of high performance charity rugby clinics have been announced for locations in Munster and Leinster through April, giving young players a fantastic rugby development experience to avail of around the end of their club and school rugby seasons.
Launched by partners RugbyCamps.ie and PSA Academies, the events will see international-level coaches (plus some SPECIAL guests!) deliver an innovative rugby programme that includes core skills assessment, game management coaching and drills, decision making and teamwork development. Each clinic will offer a perfect taster experience for the 10 to 18 year old girl and boys attending, giving them a real insight into the full Academy Programme that the organisers will offer in Ireland (Roscrea Rugby Academy 1-6 July and Kilkenny Rugby Academy 12-17 August) and France (Tignes Rugby Academy 7-28 July) later on this year.
Importantly, the clinics will directly benefit charity partners UNICEF Ireland, who have a well-established rugby footprint in Ireland through the involvement of Ex-Munster and Irish playing legend Donnacha O’Callaghan, who has worked tirelessly as a Goodwill Ambassador for the charity for a number of years. With each booking seeing €10 donated to the charity plus further fundraising activities planned for the days themselves, it is hoped that the clinics can prove a very successful grassroots community fundraising initiative for the charity.
Speaking on the announcement of the events, ex-Munster player and RugbyCamps.ie/PSA Academies Head Coach Johne Murphy said "We’re really looking forward to introducing young players across Munster & Leinster to our fantastic high performance rugby programme via these charity rugby clinics. Being able to support UNICEF Ireland’s important charity work at the same time is really important for our team and we’re looking forward to getting great support from the Irish rugby public across all three locations.”
